Max lives with his partner in an apartment in Woolloongabba. He was born in the Mater hospital in Brisbane and grew up in West End, Highgate Hill and Kangaroo Point.
Before being the candidate for Griffith he worked for the National Tertiary Education Union working with casual and contract research and admin workers to better organise and improve their rights. He has worked as a call centre worker, after school care worker and has 1st class honours in History from UQ.
In 2016 he managed Jonathan Sri’s successful Gabba Ward Campaign and since then was the key driver and strategist for the Queensland Greens 2017 and 2020 state elections, where the party successfully elected Michael Berkman and Amy MacMahon. He was also responsible for drafting the party’s election platform in both elections. In 2018 he drafted the Victorian Greens energy policy.
